Adolescent, Teen, Adult and Couples Therapist in Marin County
Brené Brown insightfully states, “We are biologically, cognitively, physically, and spiritually wired to love, to be loved, and to belong. When those needs are not met, we don’t function as we were meant to. We break. We fall apart. We numb. We ache. We hurt others. We get sick.”
My Approach
I apply an integrative, modality-informed approach that draws from various therapeutic frameworks, including psychodynamic therapy, body psychology, and DBT. This allows me to tailor my work to the unique needs of each client while creating a warm and supportive environment where they feel safe, heard, and understood.
Creating a nurturing therapeutic environment is essential for helping clients feel free to explore their experiences without judgment or criticism. My approach is grounded in relational attunement, which helps me stay connected to my clients’ emotional needs and struggles. By fostering a collaborative relationship, I support clients in their inner exploration, which leads to greater self-awareness and healthier connections with both their inner and outer worlds.
I believe that healing and thriving are rooted in supportive relationships. My practice is informed by humanistic and trauma-informed frameworks, incorporating key concepts from attachment and somatic theories. Recognizing that each individual has a unique journey, I customize my approach to meet their specific needs.
I welcome individuals of all cultural, ethnic, gender, and sexual identities, offering a therapeutic space that fosters healing, growth, and connection.
Support for Teens, and Adults
In my work with teens and adults, I combine insights from my personal healing journey with extensive education to offer a compassionate and informed therapeutic approach. Adolescence, in particular, can be a tumultuous time for both the individual and their family. I am here to support the whole family, recognizing that we are not meant to face these challenges alone.
I have a strong interest and experience in helping individuals address issues such as depression, anxiety, dissociative states, disordered eating, ADHD/ADD, OCD, and loss and grief. My approach emphasizes creating a supportive and secure space where clients can explore their experiences and emotions openly, free from judgment. By integrating empathy with evidence-based practices, I aim to help individuals gain deeper self-understanding and develop effective coping strategies.
Whether working with adolescents, or adults, my goal is to foster resilience and personal growth, guiding each person toward a more balanced and fulfilling life.
Support for Couples
In my work with couples, I apply an Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) informed approach to help partners develop a deeper and more secure emotional connection. EFT is grounded in the understanding that emotional bonds are crucial for relationship satisfaction and stability. I create a safe and supportive therapeutic space where couples can explore their emotional experiences and vulnerabilities without fear of judgment.
By focusing on the underlying emotions that drive interactions and conflicts, I assist couples in identifying and expressing their needs more openly. My aim is to help partners reconnect and cultivate a more empathetic understanding of each other, fostering trust and emotional intimacy. Through this process, couples can strengthen their bond, navigate challenges with greater resilience, and ultimately enhance the overall health and satisfaction of their relationship.
