Some of my identities include being a cisgender, heterosexual, white woman. I am both a teacher and student, a mother and a daughter, a spiritual being and a skeptic. I celebrate, honor, and want to work with clients who don’t necessarily share my identities. I have embarked on a deep exploration both personally and professionally around my own whiteness and privilege and am committed to supporting anti-racist work and dismantling white supremacy.
My Approach
My style is rooted in awareness, particularly the body-mind connection. My intent is to provide a nonjudgmental and empathic space to support my clients in the courageous act of discovering who they really are. What this looks like in each session varies, but it may include awareness and mindfulness practices, parts work, talk therapy, somatic-based explorations, imaginary space & metaphor, or experiential experiments.
My Background
I have a master of arts degree in integral counseling psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies. I counseled individuals at Church Street Integral Counseling Center where I received extensive training in gestalt therapy. At the moment I split my time working as a psychotherapist for both Marin Wellness Counseling and Grateful Heart Holistic Therapy Center. Prior to becoming a psychotherapist I was an elementary school teacher for 13+ years, so I have experience working with children, parents, and educators.
