A Marin County Marriage and Family Therapist
Something happened in your life that threw you off course. Something that leaves you feeling ashamed or discouraged, as if you haven’t done a good enough job, or that things will never get better.
Maybe your teen is struggling, and they’re not responding to the ways in which you’re trying to help.
Your family is suffering and you’re not sure where to go from here.
Most people don’t understand what you are going through and you’re worried that others will judge you.
You catch yourself thinking:
- “Did I cause this?”
- “Is my child going to be ok?”
- “What could I have done differently?”
- “What’s wrong with me?”
Parenting a child can be one of the most rewarding experiences a person can have. It can also be one of the most overwhelming and lonely experiences, especially when you feel you don’t have the support that you need. You might feel helpless about supporting your teen or hopeless about their future. It is hard to see them struggling, suffering, acting out. Being a parent can feel demoralizing, stressful and frustrating.
