Teen, Adult and Couples Therapist in Marin County

You’re wondering why things feel so stuck. It seems like no matter what you do, things don’t improve, or you don’t feel better. Sometimes you blame yourself, thinking that if only you were different, your life would be better. But that doesn’t seem to help things either.

I’m here to get focused with you about where you are, what is keeping you stuck, and what can move in order for you to feel better. We will get creative about how to address what you are dealing with. We will start from where you are. The goal is to make the ride more joyful, to allow for the highs and the lows along the way. And, most importantly, to feel less alone in whatever you are facing.

    My Approach

My clients have reported experiencing greater freedom, and deeper permission to move towards their authentic interests. For example:

    • A client was struggling with whether or not to stay together with their partner. We clarified what they were getting and not getting out of the relationship, helping them see their choice in the context of their desires. They reported committing to the relationship on a different, deeper level after working with me, with eyes open to the challenges ahead.
    • A client suffered a betrayal by their partner and had to figure out how to survive the emotional roller coaster that followed. They said that I got them through the crisis of the initial dark days and helped them to find their real voice in the situation, beyond their anger.
    • A client was looking to feel less responsible for their family members, who would often lean on them for tasks they could take care of themselves. We identified what was driving the feelings of responsibility and made a game plan for how to respond to future requests. They reported that this made them closer than ever to their family members.

Clients often say they feel lighter after having shared some of their burdens with me. My wish for you would be a steadier and clearer picture of yourself, leading to improved quality of life and relationships.

I work with individual adults and couples, as well as teens and parents. I have a specialty in working with men in partner and parenting relationships. I have also completed training in somatic (body awareness-based) and talk-based approaches to healing trauma.
