    My Approach

My approach is humanistic, collaborative, and trauma-informed. I strive to provide a safe, respectful, and healing environment for every person who walks through my door.  I believe all of us have and can further develop qualities of the self that include compassion, confidence, connectedness, and creativity.  I specialize in working with individuals and couples who are anxious, depressed, grieving the loss of a loved one, and/or uncertain about their life’s direction. I am attentive to the multiple impacts of discrimination and bias in the lives of women, people in the LGBTQ+ community, and people of color.

Support for Individuals (adults and teens)

Are you feeling anxious or depressed?  Do you find relationships challenging or conflictual?  Are you grieving the loss of a loved one or feeling that something in your life is missing without knowing what?  Therapy is a place where you can take stock, get support, gain insight, improve self-esteem, and move toward what you most want in your life.  When people start therapy, it is normal to feel a mix of feelings: nervousness, hope, skepticism, and fear.  My goal it to help you feel comfortable, clarify your goals, and support your resolve to make positive changes.  You can get there from here.

    Support for Couples

Do you want to improve communication, better navigate differences, reduce conflict, and feel closer?  At their best, intimate relationships have the greatest potential to heal psychic wounds: they offer shelter and solidarity and allow you to come forward, be seen, and relax.  My approach in couples work is to help you talk to each other in ways that build, restore, and/or deepen understanding, acceptance, and trust.  In each session, I strive to help you repair and heal from painful patterns, rather than repeat them, and to rekindle the spark that drew you together.
